T.I.C. GA67 To Bring Tantalum And Niobium Industry Together

Global Tantalum and Niobium Community Heads to Yinchuan

The 67th General Assembly and Conference of the Tantalum-Niobium International Study Center (T.I.C.) is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 16, 2026, in Yinchuan, China.

The four-day event will bring together companies, industry experts and other participants from across the international tantalum and niobium supply chain. The conference will combine technical presentations, market discussions, professional exchange and industry networking. The official venue is the JW Marriott Yinchuan.

Registration for GA67 has now closed. The T.I.C. has also announced that this year's event attracted a record number of participants, reflecting continued interest in the development of the tantalum and niobium industries. The official attendee list currently includes 98 organisations.

Technical and Market Topics Take Center Stage

GA67 is not limited to a single part of the tantalum and niobium industry. The published programme brings together technical and commercial topics covering different stages of the supply chain.

Areas represented in the programme include tantalum markets, niobium alloys, critical raw materials, recycling, sustainability, medical applications, capacitors and superconducting RF technology. The programme also includes discussions related to advanced materials and emerging applications.

This combination of market and technical sessions gives the event a broader role than a conventional industry meeting. Discussions can connect developments in raw materials and processing with changes in downstream technologies and applications.

AI and Semiconductor Demand Draw Attention

One of the areas receiving attention at GA67 is the relationship between tantalum and emerging technology markets.

The T.I.C.'s 2026 Annual Report identifies AI and capacitors among the areas represented by the technical contributors at GA67. The organisation has also highlighted semiconductor-related topics in its recent industry publications, including work related to tantalum sputtering materials and advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

These topics reflect the wider discussion around how demand for advanced electronics and high-performance technologies may influence the tantalum supply chain.

For the industry, the importance of these discussions lies not only in current demand, but also in how material requirements may change as new technologies develop.

Supply Security and Recycling Remain Important

Supply diversification and the efficient use of raw materials are also expected to remain important themes during the event.

The T.I.C.'s 2026 Annual Report describes the past year as one of continued demand, investment and project development, while highlighting growing attention to diversified supply, secondary materials, recycling and by-product recovery.

These issues are particularly relevant to an industry where mining, processing, recycling and downstream manufacturing are closely connected. New primary supply remains important, while secondary materials and improved recovery can provide additional sources of tantalum and niobium.

International Industry Participation

The attendee list for GA67 includes organisations involved in mining, materials, processing, manufacturing, trading and other parts of the tantalum and niobium supply chain.

Companies listed by the T.I.C. include ATI, Global Advanced Metals, Advanced Material Japan Corporation, Argus Media, Boston Metal and several Chinese tantalum and niobium companies, among others. The current official list contains 98 organisations.

The international participation gives the conference an opportunity to connect developments from different parts of the supply chain and different regions of the global market.

Looking Ahead to GA67

With the conference beginning on September 13, attention will now turn to the presentations, market discussions and technical exchanges taking place in Yinchuan.

The event is expected to provide further information on the issues currently shaping the tantalum and niobium industries, including market development, supply security, recycling, advanced materials and emerging technology applications.

For the global tantalum and niobium supply chain, the information and discussions emerging from GA67 will be worth watching as the industry continues to respond to changing technology demand, supply-chain conditions and critical raw material policies.
