Niobium Tube

Niobium Tube

Niobium tube is a type of pipe made of niobium or niobium alloy, which has a series of unique physical and chemical properties, and is therefore widely used in various fields such as petrochemicals, aerospace, nuclear industry, and electronics industry.

Description

Niobium is a super high temperature resistant gray white metal with a melting point of 2468 ℃, a boiling point of 4742 ℃, and a density of 8.57g/cm ³. Niobium has good ductility, but its ductility decreases with increasing impurity content and becomes harder. Niobium tubes can be divided into pure niobium tubes and niobium alloy tubes according to their composition. The common grades of pure niobium tubes are RO4200 (purity ≥ 99.95%) and RO4210 (purity 99.99%). In terms of specifications, niobium tubes have a wide range of diameters, from Φ ≥ 1mm to larger sizes. At the same time, there are strict standards for the outer diameter tolerance and wall thickness tolerance of niobium tubes to ensure product quality and accuracy.

Niobium tubes can maintain sufficient strength and plasticity at high temperatures, making them an ideal material for manufacturing equipment such as high-temperature furnace heating belts, high-temperature molds, high-temperature fixtures, and high-temperature crucibles. Niobium tubes have good corrosion resistance to various acid, alkali, and salt solutions, especially under conditions of resistance to nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, or sulfuric acid corrosion. Niobium has excellent low-temperature plasticity and cold working performance at extremely low temperatures, and can be cold pressed into various forms of products such as plates, rods, and wires. The best superconductivity is achieved at around minus 260 ℃, where the resistance is close to zero, making it an important element in the production of superconducting materials.

Based on the unique physical and chemical properties mentioned above, niobium tubes play an important role in many industries. In petroleum refining and chemical processes, niobium pipes are often used as heat exchanger pipelines under high temperature and pressure, as well as in occasions where corrosion resistance is required. It can effectively resist the erosion of corrosive media such as acid, alkali, salt, etc., ensuring the stability and safety of the process. Meanwhile, niobium tubes are also commonly used as protective tubes for thermometers and level gauges to prevent corrosion or high-temperature damage to measuring equipment. In nuclear reactors, niobium tubes are often used as nuclear fuel cladding tubes due to their excellent radiation and corrosion resistance. This type of pipeline requires long-term exposure to a radioactive environment, while niobium tubes can maintain the stability of their structure and performance. Niobium tubes can also be used as cooling system pipelines for nuclear reactors, transferring the enormous heat generated by the reactor and ensuring its safe operation.

In the metallurgical industry, niobium tubes can be used as heating elements and insulation materials for high-temperature furnaces to withstand working environments at high temperatures. In the glass industry, niobium tubes can be used to manufacture high-temperature resistant glass kiln components, ensuring high-quality production of glass products. Niobium compounds and alloys have important applications in the electronics industry. For example, niobium oxides can be used to manufacture superconducting materials that exhibit zero resistance at low temperatures, which is of great significance for improving the energy efficiency of electronic devices. Niobium tubes can also be used as suction agents for vacuum tubes to remove residual gases inside the vacuum tube, improve the vacuum degree, and ensure the stability and reliability of electronic devices.

Niobium tubes can also be used in multiple fields such as medical equipment, shipbuilding, heat exchangers, chemical equipment, etc., to meet various complex working environment requirements with their unique performance. In summary, niobium tubes have a wide range of applications, covering multiple fields such as petrochemicals, aerospace, nuclear industry, and electronics industry.
