Production process characteristics

Vacuum melting and purification technology
Zirconium is chemically active and needs to be smelted under vacuum or inert gas protection.
Vacuum arc melting: Using high-purity sponge zirconium as raw material, the uniformity of the composition is controlled through multiple melting processes.
Electron beam melting/iodination method: used to prepare high-purity zirconium with a purity of over 99.95%, significantly reducing the content of oxygen and nitrogen impurities.

Plastic Processing and Organizational Control
Hot rolling/forging: Perform plastic deformation in the 500-600 ℃ range to optimize grain structure and enhance strength.
Heat treatment: Vacuum annealing eliminates stress, finely regulates grain size (usually ≤ 50 μ m), and ensures mechanical properties.

Extreme environmental stability
Corrosion resistance: The surface self generated zirconia film (ZrO ₂) resists corrosion from hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and seawater. The annual corrosion rate in a 300 ℃ seawater environment is only 1/100 of that of stainless steel.
High temperature performance: melting point 1852 ℃, significant high temperature strength, tensile strength still maintains 1400-1700MPa at 600 ℃.

Special nuclear properties
Ultra low heat neutron absorption cross section (0.18 target En) ensures the efficiency of neutron utilization in nuclear reactors.
